What I was doing at 3:45am earlier.
Wrote this on my phone a few hours ago. I couldn’t sleep. I was brooding. I was fighting my way through an idea that has haunted me for months now.
I’ve already wrote about this a few days back— in life we choose our battles. We can’t really go Forrest Gump on them because living is a battle in itself. We can only hope to be strong enough through them without raising the white flag. We hope for hope that we may emerge victorious in each and every war we take part in. We can’t give up because we need not to, or for others— we can’t afford to. We can always fight the urge to surrender— because the only time we truly lose the battle is if we do. It will always be a tough road and it’ll only get tougher every time. But we also get stronger, braver and wiser. That’s the beauty of evolution. We always eventually get to the next level. Time allows us to do that, and no matter how long it’ll take for us to get there, we eventually do. That’s why we need not to give up— or we’ll miss the beauty of that “eventuality”. It’s always a beautiful thing to become better versions of ourselves. So why give up? Why stop at the stupid, coward and weak you when there’s the possibility that you can become so much better than that? Nobody gets it right the first time, the second time, the third time, or the many time you’ve failed. Surviving alone is already a success story against the convenience of giving up.
So the fact that I just posted this on my Tumblr is a proof that I won that argument with myself earlier. I guess, I’m gonna have to read this every time I get into that same argument again.
